This position is within our R&D and Engineering department based at the Breas global headquarter in Mölnlycke, Sweden. Breas Medical is owned by the Chinese healthcare group Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd. that is traded on the Hong Kong stock exchange.

These are your responsibilites

The Mechanical Design Lead Engineer is responsible for technical leadership in mechanical design, development of new products, support to the existing Breas product line, covering component selection, design for use, regulatory and standard requirements as well as safety, And thermal and reliability considerations for operation of electronics. 

You will be leading, planning, coordination and executing Mechanical Design development activities in projects and subprojects. Ensuring design controls according to requirements and providing expertise in Mechanical Design development, including investigates new technologies as part of a team. 

You will be providing technical guidance to other mechanical engineers,  proposing new technical solutions in order to meet customer needs.  And ensuring technical, quality and regulatory compliance and towards Breas processes as well as ensure to product development process improvements.

What you will do

  • Lead or participate in projects/activities to develop new or improved products, including concept, specification, documentation, design, prototyping, test, risk analysis (DFMEA), manufacturing transfer and service support. 
  • Take Technical Leadership  such as coordinate, lead technical activities during product development in collaboration with development, manufacturing partners and leading design transfer activities
  • Lead and support with continuous improvements to existing product line 
  • Investigate defects and deviations in products & design 
  • Participate and drive continuous improvement activities by supporting the implementation of process & product quality improvement initiatives
  • Support compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements 
  • Continuous interaction with productiontechnical support, suppliers and sub-suppliers 
  • Participate and drive the development of internal processes 
  • Participate in technical reviews and contributing to tech discussions

This is you

  • Mechanical design experience of minimum 5 years  
  • High knowledge of mechanical CAD systems, simulation tools like Creo and SolidWorks 
  • Material knowledge in Polymers and metallic materials  
  • Experience from design of Injection molded parts and products 
  • Design and verification testing
  • Design For Manufacturing (DFM) experience 
  • PLM/PDM experience, preferably Windchill  
  • Microsoft Office 
  • Academic Engineering degree from technical university (BSc) or similar with focus on Mechanical Design Engineering

Nice if you have knowledge in regulatory requirements and standards for medical devices, e.g. ISO 13485, MDD(MDR), IEC 60601-1, FDA,
