This position is within our R&D and Engineering department based at the Breas global headquarter in Mölnlycke, Sweden. Breas Medical is owned by the Chinese healthcare group Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd. that is traded on the Hong Kong stock exchange.

We are looking for

An experienced Electrical Design Lead Engineer, with embedded device development experience.  

You are part of the R&D and Engineering design team in the development of new ventilator devices including supporting our existing installed base product line.

You will act as the Electrical Design Lead and engage in all phases throughout the product development, including concept, specification, architecture, documentation, design, prototyping, testing, risk analysis, manufacturing transfer and service support. As lead engineer, you will drive the electrical design development, supported by other electrical design engineers. In this role you will also be in close contact with new and existing sub-suppliers.

You will lead maintenance and support of installed base products in accordance with customer needs and quality while system requirements are also an important part of the job. You will have continuous interaction with Production and Technical Support and take part in technical investigations.

You will be responsible and lead

The electrical hardware development, system design and detailed design, including component selection and design for use in compliance with regulatory and standard requirements and safety will be your lead responsibility. You will examine thermal and reliability considerations for the operation of electronics. You will be the expert in electronics engineering and interested to investigate new technology. Writing design specifications and lead design risk analysis is also a skill and experience of great importance.

Experience and personality you will bring

  • Electronics design experience with a minimum of 5 years
  • Knowledge of electronic CAD systems (e.g. Alltium) and simulation tools
  • EMC compatible design/solution experience
  • Good documentation and communication skills
  • Device testing including verification testing
  • As you will work with both international and local personnel, both Swedish and English are a must
  • Attitude to take responsibility for own tasks, competences and beyond
  • Curiosity, interested and engagement
  • Open mindset, out of the box thinking
  • Formal qualifications include an academic Engineering degree from a technical university (BSc) or similar with focus on electronic design

Knowledge of the medical device industry and relevant standards (e.g. IEC 60601) is considered a plus.
