Consultant- Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Assignment is approximately 6 months.
Purpose of the role
  • Preforming design and analysis to support research and development of Mechanical Ventilator and Sleep Apnea Devices and physiological monitoring instruments. 
    Leads design activities, reviews and reports design’s progress. 
    Assignments are broad in nature, requiring appreciable initiative, originality, ingenuity and excellent problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
  • • Subject matter expert in electrical/electronic engineering.
  • • Primary electrical/electronic engineer, responsible for 
    o control system optimization, 
    o digital signal processing, 
    o pneumatic system optimization, and
    o actuator/sensor selection
    • Drive development of FDA-approved respiratory therapy devices from design through regulatory submission and production. 
    • Knowledge of EMI measurement and mitigation techniques
    • Experience with IEC 60601/62304 standards
    • Experience working with micro-controller in an embedded system environment
    • Familiar with programming languages: C, C , C#, Python
    • Experience in development of medical devices in a regulated industry
    • Proficiency with major commercial schematic capture and layout tools
    • Proficiency with integrated circuit simulation and analysis via SPICE, MATLAB, Simulink or similar tools

  • Decision Making Responsibilities for electrical systems design
Minimum Key Requirements
  • Required Experience:
    • 10 years industry experience in electrical and electronic engineering, preferably in the medical device industry.
    • Experience leading product development efforts involving electrical and mechanical engineer.
  • Altium experience (our ECAD system) is required
    Required General Skills and Characteristics:
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in the area of mechanical and/or electronic design
    • Hard worker; Objectives oriented; Self-motivated; High energy
    • Strong interpersonal skills; strong communicator and listener; self-confident
    Required Academic Credentials:
    • B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or comparable industrial experience
    • Solid foundation in engineering and scientific fundamentals
    • Publications/patents a plus

Hourly Range: $100 - $125
