Description of the role: Mechanical Design Engineer
In the role as Mechanical Design Engineer you will perform and drive mechanical design and improvements of sub-systems and components as part of existing and new ventilator products.
Maintenance and support of installed base products in accordance to customer needs and quality-system requirements is also part of the work. You will have close interaction with Production and Technical support.
You will take part in design transfers of new products and continuous improvement. This also involves being in contact with sub-suppliers such as injection moulders.
In the role as Mechanical Design Engineer you will take product requirements, production flow, cost and throughput into account.
Responsibilities of the role:
Decide on mechanical design concepts, components, materials and solutions within the assigned design change or support issue.
Review necessary support documentation and maintain documentation for each design.
Support compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements.
Participate in development of processes.
Qualifications/Requirements:
BSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
5 years experience in mechanical design or project engineering
High knowledge of CAD systems, preferably Creo and SolidWorks.
PLM/PDM experience, preferably Windchill.
Good knowledge in design of plastic injection moulding parts.
Knowledge of Medical Device industry and relevant standards (e.g. IEC 60601)
Good documentation and communication skills
